New Release: Claimed by the Beast by Natasha Knight

Addy: Hi Natasha! Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve.

Natasha: Hi Addy, thanks for having me here today and Happy New Year!! Time to make those resolutions. Mine is to find clarity and take more time for everything. I've made this one before so I'm hoping this time, it works out better…

Addy: I hear you and I am making the same one!

Natasha: I'd like to share a snippet from Claimed by the Beast today. At this point in the book, Rachel has been kidnapped by Lance Weston, a professor who, in his quest to cure his own illness, created a serum to heal himself from Shifter DNA samples. But things have gone wrong and although the serum has worked to cure his disease, it has a terrible side effect: it's made a shifter out of him. But one which is completely out of control.

Lance was drawn to Rachel because she carries a form of the Shifter gene. He is hoping to use samples from her to correct his mistake. The scene below leads up to Rachel's medical examination.

Addy: Ooooh! I can't wait!

“I can’t examine you through all these layers, can I?” Lance spat.

Rachel made a sound through her gag, one of utter fear.

“Be good and I’ll try not to cut you.”

She squeezed her eyes shut when the cold metal touched the back of her neck and she heard the first snip of the thing. She tried to scream through her gag and he yanked her head backward again, warning her.

He continued cutting, all the way down her back then along her sleeves until her sweater fell from her body. Her jeans were next. At least he let her hair go and she leaned her head forward, trying to block his touch from her mind, trying but failing when she knelt in her bra and panties.

“Shame to cut these. They’re so pretty,” he said, mocking her. She glanced over to find him standing back, his head cocked to the side, taking in her almost naked form.

His grin chilled her as he snipped the shoulder straps first. He then leaned over her, bringing the scissors slowly to the center of her chest, sliding the metal down between her breasts and snipping once. She’d never forget that sound as her bra fell to the mattress.

She tucked her arms together, trying to cover her breasts as next, he knelt beside her, pulling her body back against his chest.

“Shh…” he coaxed, his breath hot on her ear. She struggled against him, again trying to scream but any sound was muffled by the tape that gagged her. “Shh…”

He ran the scissors down her belly and she watched its progress as he slid one blade inside her panties.
“Be really, really still now,” he whispered.

More than a year has passed since Marcus, free at last from his harsh captivity, disappeared to lead a life of solitude. Rachel waits for him, clinging to hope, but her fear grows that the man with whom she shares an unbreakable bond is lost to her forever. Despair leads her to take risks with her life, and Elijah does his best to keep her safe, but he knows that only his brother’s return can truly heal her wounded heart.

Believing that he will only bring her pain and sadness, Marcus has vowed to leave Rachel on her own, telling himself that she will move on and find love and happiness in the arms of some other man. But when the dark shadows of the past engulf his family again and Rachel’s life is put in terrible danger, he is given no choice but to return and take back what is his.

Though overjoyed that Marcus has returned at last, Rachel cannot bring herself to believe that he will truly stay this time, and her doubts push her to defy him even as he fights to protect her. She soon learns, however, that he will tolerate no disobedience when her safety is at stake, and her defiance will be dealt with firmly. As she stands before him, bare and blushing with her well-spanked bottom on display, knowing there is much more to come, Rachel longs for her mate to claim her as his and his alone. But can he shield her from those who would do them harm, or will he be torn away from her yet again?
